Always thankful to have any place nearby during the field research season to kick back and enjoy some ice water and a hot meal, this place goes above and beyond that. Stopped in towards closing to few people in the restaurant and was met with a smile from the bartender and a gesture to have a seat! I placed my order and it was done to my exact specifications in a timely manner. The owners were friendly, helpful, and personable and just great company overall. Glad I decided to stop in and recommend to anyone hungry or thirsty!
The Thirsty Moose Pub and Grub is exactly what you hope to find in a remote Adirondack pub and grill. It delivers all the essentials: a cozy, rustic atmosphere, genuinely friendly staff, and some of the best wings around. Whether you’re stopping in after a day on the trails or just looking for a laid-back local spot, it hits the mark. One of the most entertaining parts of the visit is the decor: it’s quirky, nostalgic, and full of character. You could easily spend an hour just reading the signs, photos, and oddities covering everything from the bar area to the bathroom walls. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving good food, cold drinks, and great vibes.
When we arrived we were the only ones there but soon a few more parties came in. There was one waitress on duty and she was absolutely amazing. She was attentive to our needs, and answered all our questions. The owner even came out to make sure everything was good and we had to say it was exceptional! With all of the closing of businesses in the area, the Thirsty Moose is worth the drive to Childwold

On my recent visit, while the place was bustling with a lively snowmobile crew, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The Thirsty Moose, true to its 'mom and pop' nature, offers a cozy, rustic ambiance that feels like a step back into a simpler time. Their menu, though I didn’t get to experience it fully due to the crowd, seemed to offer a variety of hearty, home-cooked meals - perfect for refueling after a day in the outdoors. One thing to note for future visitors: this place can get quite popular, especially with local snowmobile enthusiasts. It’s a testament to its reputation in the community. If you're looking for a quieter experience, you might want to check ahead or choose a time outside of peak hours. In conclusion, The Thirsty Moose is more than just a pit stop; it's a delightful slice of local culture, offering friendly service and a glimpse into the community spirit of the Adirondacks.
